How to clean a gutter? Well, if you’ve ever had to deal with blocked gutters,…
Who are Ben’s Gutters?
You might have seen our leaflet arrive in your letterbox, or spotted one of our vans driving down your road. Ben’s Gutters was established in 2010 in East Grinstead, West Sussex. Starting out as a small home office with one man and his van, over the last 15 years we’ve expanded to over 150 vans on the road, three offices and more than 100 office staff.
Yes, we clear both residential and commercial gutters. We also offer fascia and soffit washing, minor repairs (such as clipping gutters back into place or sealing a small leak), conservatory roof washing and tiled roof washing. For commercial properties we can also clean solar panels and cladding.
In 2022 we started Ben’s Roof Cleaning, offering a zero-contact gentle roof cleaning service done from the ground or mobile scaffold towers, with a full clean up after the work is done. We can even offer a non-toxic biocide to keep the moss away from your roof for months after the clean.
But the big question we are always asked is, how do we work?
A national company with a local presence
Our ethos has always been to give local cleaners the training, equipment and support they need to be able to make a stable career when working for us. We fully vet all of our self-employed subcontractors, put them through as much training as they need to deliver the work safely and successfully, and provide them with our sign-written vans and logo’d clothing so you know that when someone arrives saying they’re from Ben’s Gutters, if they are driving one of our vans, wearing one of our shirts and carrying ID, they are a bona fide Ben’s Gutters cleaner.
Our cleaners are fully qualified tradespeople that we source work for, providing work for hundreds of locals every day.
Leaflet advertising that makes a difference
Over the years, you might have come across our leaflet. From going viral on TikTok to being discussed on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 4, it’s even been the subject of a university marketing paper.
What began in 2010 as a simple handwritten note—photocopied and dropped through local letterboxes—has grown into a nationally recognised flyer, seen everywhere from Inverness to Penzance.
Now and then, the ASA has challenged our claim of being local. But we’ve stood our ground—and won every time. That’s because all of our tradespeople are genuinely local to the areas we advertise in. They work from fully insured, sign-written vans equipped with tracking, and wear full uniform. When we say local, we mean it.
